The number of teams qualifying for the playoffs varies depending on the total number of teams in the league and the rules that have been configured. See League Office > Dashboard > Configuration tab for details.

Standings Used to Determine Playoff Qualification #

Division and Wild Card Teams #

The top teams in each division automatically qualify for the playoffs. If the total number of playoff spots, divided by the number of divisions, does not result in a whole number, the remaining wild card spots are filled based on the conference standings.

For example, with 3 divisions × 2 teams per division = 6 teams, plus the 2 best second-place teams, for a total of 8 playoff spots.

In the same league with 4 divisions, the top 2 teams from each division would qualify, and no wild card teams would be added.

Conference (or League) Standings #

This option uses conference standings, or league standings if there is only one conference. For example, if 8 teams make the playoffs, the top 8 teams in the conference automatically qualify.

Goalie Fatigue in the Playoffs #

In the playoffs, goalies do not experience additional fatigue from playing multiple consecutive games, unlike in the regular season. This means you can use the same goalie throughout the playoffs without worrying about increased fatigue lowering their condition and performance.
