Trade Deadline
The trade deadline is set after the January 28th simulation, which corresponds to the 120th day of the regular season (roughly 66% of the season). Trades can involve players, draft picks, and salary retention. No future considerations are allowed in a trade.
Completing a Trade #
For a trade to go through: One GM must submit an offer. The other GM must accept it. The trade is then reviewed by the Trade Committee, made up of 2 to 6 GMs plus the league president. A trade becomes official once it receives approval from a majority of the committee (50% + 1).
Trade Committee #
Once a trade is approved, the simulator instantly updates the players, picks, and money exchanged for both teams. GMs must always respect the committee’s decision.
The purpose of the Trade Committee is to ensure fairness for the good of the league: Fair or slightly one-sided trades → should be accepted. Overly lopsided trades or deals that jeopardize a team’s future → will be rejected.
After the Trade Deadline #
From the trade deadline until the end of the playoffs, and during the free agent signing stage, the trade system is disabled.
During this period, GMs may still negotiate informal trades using the internal messaging system to keep other GMs informed. Once the trade system reopens, these deals can be made official.
