Every year, when the national league ends its regular season, the Websim team goes to work to generate new player attributes, using actual statistics compiled throughout the season to get the most realistic picture possible of their season.
Once completed, the attributes of players, goalkeepers and coaches are permanently updated for the coming year, which means several things for a majority of leagues!
Current real-development leagues #
If you're in the regular season, you'll see the new attributes on the Attributes > Future Players page. Only in the post-season will attributes be updated.
Retro leagues #
The set of players replaced by the update now becomes the most recent official retro real set. Leagues that have been waiting for these players to advance will have access to them.
Virtual leagues linked to the current official set #
The rookies have arrived! Players who were not previously in your league and who have played enough games to be imported (configurable) are now available for entry draft.
Leagues that have activated hopefuls (R15) #
New players who are linked to a team as an espoir player are sent to their respective team at a time that varies, depending on the configuration of rule R15.1 (at any time, at any time except in series, or during off-season stages only).
Different player statuses #
Regular player
A player is considered regular if he has played at least 10 games in the national league (5 for a goalkeeper) during the season for which the attributes are generated.
Dummy player
Players with fewer than 10 games played (fewer than 5 for goalkeepers) are assigned attributes of 50 by default. They can still be imported into leagues and used as depth players. The attributes of dummy players are never combined with those of other seasons.
Active player
A player is considered active if he is part of a league and has attributes for the current season. He may be either a regular player or a dummy player.
Up-and-coming player
A player is considered a prospect if he has been drafted by a National League team within the last 3 years but has still not met all the criteria for import into your league, which you will have configured for the import of new players. As soon as a prospect plays 1 game in the national league, he becomes eligible to be converted to an active player (dummy or regular, as the case may be and if the league rule allows) when the attributes are updated.
New player
A player is considered new to a league if he was not already an active player in your league during the previous season.
Returning player
A player is considered a returnee if he has already been an active player for at least one season since the start of your league's activities. This parameter is used from season 2 onwards only.
Retired player
A player is considered retired for the current season if he has been an active player in your league in the past and is not an active player for the current season. A retired player can return as an active player if he meets the criteria for returning players (not those for new players!).
Conditions for importing players into your league #
Choose the configurable values to be used for the next season for the following parameters, to determine the number of players to be added to your league for the season.
- Minimum number of games played (A) required for new players
- Minimum number of games played (B) required for returning players
- MOY minimum (C) a player must have to be imported into the league.
- Minimum PO (D) a player must have to be imported into the league.
- Maximum age (E) a player can have to be imported into the league.
Import rules for new players
A new player must meet the following criteria to be imported into your league as an active player:
- Have played at least the minimum number of games played (A)
- Respect the’maximum age (E)
- If the above criteria are met, we then determine whether the attributes will be combined over 2 years or not: Yes, if he played the minimum number of games played (A) the previous season.
- Respect the MOY minimum (C)
- Respect the Minimum PO (D)
Import rules for returning players
Returning players must meet the following criteria to be imported into the league as active players:
- Have played at least the minimum number of games played (B)
- Respect the’maximum age (E) after aging a year in the post-season
- The attributes of returning players are then combined over the two seasons according to the percentage configured in your league.
- Respect the MOY minimum (C)
- Respect the Minimum PO (D)
Combining attributes over 2 years
The attributes of players who were active in your league during the previous season (i.e. who played in the minimum games played (B)) are combined with those of the new season, according to the ratio in force in your league (see rule R16).
Attributes over 1 year only
Player attributes will not be combined with those of the previous season:
- For new players
- If he was a dummy player last season
Exception for Real Retro leagues
Player attributes are always calculated over a single season for all real retro leagues.
