Hiring a Coach trainer #

If you don’t already have one under contract, you’ll need to recruit a head coach for your team. To do so, go to Contracts > Coaches.

Offer Priority #

Every team must have a coach under contract by the end of this stage. Submit as many offers as there are uncoached teams, and rank them in order of preference.

Finance Strategies #

Financial strategies allow you to boost your on-ice performance while also optimizing team revenues for the upcoming season. They fall into two categories: investments and ticketing.

Investment Budget #

Your investment budget is determined by your Finance attribute, except during the first season or for interim GMs. A cap on hockey-related investments is also set based on that attribute. Access these options under Owner > Financial Strategies.

Types of Hockey Investments and Their Impact #

  • Infirmary: Speeds up recovery for players with condition below 80.Increases players' condition faster (80 or more condition).
  • InfirmaryIncreases players' condition faster (less than 80 condition).
  • Player Development: Increases the chances that players improve their attributes during re-evaluations.
  • Travel: Reduces the negative momentum effect of consecutive road games.
  • Contract Negotiations: Grants percentage discounts when negotiating with free agents and improves the value of your offers to coaches.

Ticketing Strategy #

By setting ticket prices for your home games, you directly affect both your pre-game momentum and your payroll budget.

Higher ticket prices = larger payroll budget but weaker pre-game momentum.

Lower ticket prices = stronger pre-game momentum but smaller payroll budget.

Once you’ve completed this stage, make sure to check the box confirming you’re ready to move forward, located on your Dashboard (home page).

When all GMs have confirmed, the commissioner can advance the league to the next stage.
